Iran has pushed back against a US proposal aimed at ending the current war, with a senior Iranian official describing the offer as one sided and unfair. The official said the proposal asks Iran to give up key defensive capabilities in exchange for unclear sanctions relief, a tradeoff Tehran does not see as acceptable. Even so, the same official said diplomacy has not been ruled out completely if Washington takes what Iran sees as a more realistic approach.
The political message from Tehran appears to be a mix of resistance and caution. Iran is publicly rejecting terms it considers too harsh, while also signaling that back channel diplomacy could still happen through mediators such as Pakistan and Turkey. That keeps the political situation fluid, even as public statements from both sides remain tough.
