Lil Durk is facing federal murder for hire charges tied to an alleged plot against Quando Rondo. Prosecutors say the case is linked to the aftermath of King Von’s 2020 killing.
Lil Durk is facing serious federal charges after prosecutors accused him of being involved in an alleged murder for hire plot connected to rapper Quando Rondo. According to federal authorities, the case is tied to the fallout from the 2020 killing of King Von, a close associate of Durk and a key figure in his OTF circle.
Prosecutors say Durk, born Durk Banks, was named in a superseding federal indictment alleging he conspired with others to target a rival rapper. Investigators linked the case to a 2022 shooting near the Beverly Center in Los Angeles. Authorities claim Quando Rondo was the intended target, but the gunfire killed Saviay’a Robinson, who has been identified in reports as Rondo’s cousin.
The Chicago rapper was arrested in October 2024. Five other people allegedly connected to his crew were also charged. Federal prosecutors say the shooting was part of a revenge plot tied to King Von’s death in Atlanta back in 2020.
The case has shaken the hip hop world for obvious reasons. Durk is one of rap’s biggest names, and the people involved in the allegations are tied to a conflict fans have followed for years. Prosecutors say members and associates of Only the Family, widely known as OTF, played a role in carrying out the alleged plan.
Durk has pleaded not guilty. For now, the accusations remain claims that prosecutors will have to prove in court. Even so, the case has already become one of the most talked about legal stories in rap, with fans and industry watchers paying close attention to every new development.
