An 18 year old woman is in critical condition after being shot in the neck during an argument inside a home on Chicago’s Southwest Side, according to police. Fox 32 Chicago reported the shooting happened Saturday night in the Archer Heights neighborhood.

Police said the incident happened around 8:20 p.m. in the 5100 block of South Kostner. The victim later went to Christ Hospital as a walk in patient and was then transferred to Mount Sinai for further treatment.

According to the report, the woman told police she had been involved in an argument with a man inside the home when the gun was fired. No arrests have been announced, and Area One detectives are investigating the case.

The shooting adds to continuing concerns over gun violence in parts of Chicago, though authorities have not yet released further details about the suspect or what led to the dispute.
