Organizers of a popular London music festival say it has been canceled after the headliner,Kanye West was blocked from traveling to the United Kingdom. The announcement that West, who is known as Ye, would headline the three-day Wireless Festival had sparked criticism from Jewish groups and politicians, who highlighted his repeated antisemitic remarks in recent years. The backlash saw major sponsors Pepsi and Diageo withdraw from the event, which had been scheduled for July 10-12. It also drew criticism from UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who had called the decision for West to headline “deeply concerning.” Now, British officials have…

While the cabin fittings might be everything a traveler expects from one of the world’s leading airlines in 2026, on some 767s there’s an experience they probably didn’t expect — a ride on one of the oldest airplanes that United flies. United took delivery of…
China’s economy is showing firmer momentum in early 2026, supported by stronger factory activity, improved holiday spending and policy efforts to keep growth stable. Reuters reported that China’s January to February economic data beat expectations, with growth helped mainly by exports, holiday consumption and an expansion in investment. Manufacturing has been a key part of that rebound. China’s official manufacturing PMI rose to 50.4 in March from 49.0 in February, returning to expansion and marking the fastest factory growth in a year, while a private PMI survey also showed manufacturing expanding for a fourth straight month. At the same time,…
Israel’s early sense of wartime unity is showing signs of strain as the conflict with Iran stretches on, with public confidence weakening and political divisions beginning to reappear. A CNN report published on April 4 said support inside Israel for the war’s goals has started to slip as the fighting grows longer and more costly. The pressure comes as Israeli leaders signal the campaign could continue for some time. Reuters reported on March 31 that Israel was prepared to keep striking Iran for “weeks to come,” with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying the war was already beyond the halfway point.…
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the Trump administration has revoked the lawful permanent resident status of Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, a niece of late Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani, and her daughter, in the latest immigration move linked to the war with Iran. The State Department said both women were arrested by federal agents and are now in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody pending removal from the United States. Rubio said Afshar had been living in Los Angeles as a green card holder and accused her of publicly supporting the Iranian regime and celebrating attacks on Americans. In an official…
Planet Labs said it will indefinitely withhold satellite images of Iran and surrounding conflict areas after a request from the US government, sharply limiting public access to commercial imagery of the war zone. The California based company said the restriction applies retroactively to images dating back to March 9 and will stay in place until the conflict ends. The company had already introduced a 14 day delay on releasing imagery from the region, but the new move goes much further by creating what it described as a managed distribution system. Under that approach, images may still be released in…
Chicago businessman and philanthropist Willie Wilson held another large gas giveaway across Chicago and northwest Indiana, drawing long lines of drivers seeking relief from rising fuel prices. CBS Chicago reported that motorists received $35 in free gas at 31 participating stations across the region. The event took place on Saturday, April 4, and was offered on a first come, first served basis beginning at 7 a.m., according to CBS Chicago. The giveaway also included a grocery component, with CBS reporting Wilson had announced another $200,000 for free gas and groceries. NBC Chicago reported the broader effort was part of a…

Kenya’s tea industry is facing a growing crisis after the US Israeli war on Iran disrupted key shipping routes to the Middle East, leaving millions of kilograms of tea stuck in warehouses and threatening farmer incomes. Reuters reported that about 8 million kilograms of tea had piled up in storage in Mombasa because vessels were being rerouted away from danger zones including the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el Mandeb Strait. The Middle East is one of the most important markets for Kenyan tea, accounting for about 20% to 25% of exports, according to the East Africa Tea Traders…
Iran has named Mojtaba Khamenei as its new supreme leader after the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in the opening phase of the war, marking a major shift in the country’s leadership as fighting continues across the region. Reuters reported on March 8 that Iran’s Assembly of Experts selected Mojtaba, a hardline cleric and the late leader’s son, to take over as the country’s top authority. The leadership change came as the conflict spilled further into the Gulf. In Saudi Arabia, two people were killed and 12 others injured after a projectile hit a residential area in Al…
