Travellers Use Astrology to Plan Holidays by the Stars

A growing number of travellers are turning to the stars when choosing where to go on holiday, using astrology based travel planning to decide which destinations may bring them love, success, peace, or personal growth.

The trend is known as astrocartography, a form of astrology that maps a person’s birth chart across the world. It suggests that different locations may connect with different parts of a person’s life depending on where the planets were positioned at the time of their birth.

According to BBC Travel, some travellers are now using these planetary maps before booking trips, choosing places linked to lines such as Jupiter, Venus, Mars, or the Moon. One traveller mentioned visiting Naxos in Greece, a place connected to her Jupiter descendant line, which she associated with growth and expansion.

For these travellers, holidays are no longer only about beaches, hotels, food, or sightseeing. The destination is also seen as a place that may match a certain emotional or spiritual purpose. A person looking for romance may follow a Venus line, while someone seeking confidence or action may choose a Mars linked location.

Astrocartography has become more visible through social media, where travel creators and astrology enthusiasts share maps, destination stories, and personal experiences. The idea appeals especially to people who want their travel to feel more meaningful and personal.

Supporters say the practice helps them choose destinations with intention. Instead of simply visiting popular tourist spots, they use the map as a guide to places where they may feel more inspired, relaxed, or connected.

However, critics argue that astrocartography is not science and should not be treated as a guaranteed way to predict what will happen in a place. Travel experiences are shaped by many real factors, including culture, weather, safety, budget, health, and personal expectations.

Still, the trend shows how modern tourism is changing. Many people are now looking for trips that offer more than rest. They want transformation, self discovery, and emotional connection.

Whether someone fully believes in astrology or simply uses it as a fun travel guide, astrocartography is becoming another way people are choosing where to go next.

For some, the perfect holiday is no longer just found on a map. It is written in the stars.
